During the beta, Game Rant had the chance to sit down and play a few rounds with Marketing Manager Raylan Kwan. Afterward, we had a couple of questions to ask regarding Naraka: Bladepoint but were most curious about what the game will look like when it nears launch.

First, because of how Naraka: Bladepoint in terms of handling battle royale features, we asked if fans should expect a traditional season approach. Those familiar with Fortnite and Apex Legends are obviously aware of the content drops and changes that come with every season, and to this, Kwan had a very simple statement: “if it works, don’t fix it.”
Continued support will also include several additions to the game in terms of quality of life. For example, one notable feature of Naraka: Bladepoint’s combat is the focus on melee weapons. However, there were only three melee weapons readily available in the beta (Longsword, Katana, and Greatsword), and we wanted to know if players can expect more around launch.
Kwan would go on to detail the same about future and upcoming Naraka: Bladepoint characters. For context, 6 were available during last weekend’s beta, but players could see 3 that were locked. Those players will become available at a later date, but they won’t be all. As Kwan said,
Overall, while it seems that the game is very innovative with its melee combat and grappling hook action, players who do enjoy battle royales will see a similar formula in play here. Ultimately, that’s a good thing as more weapons and more characters will continuously add new reasons to play Naraka: Bladepoint well after launch, and with summer right around the corner, Naraka might just be different enough for fans or even non-fans of the genre.
