Throughout the course of the Naruto series, fans have seen quite a lot of powerful characters with this rank, however, only a few stand out at the top. Here are the 10 strongest Jonin that Naruto ever introduced to the fans.
10 Yamato
A former member of the ANBU, Yamato was introduced in the second half of the Naruto series as a replacement for Kakashi. As a Jonin, it goes without saying that he was quite impressive. Yamato could use Wood Release – a Jutsu unique to the First Hokage. By using this power, he could make trees and other vegetation sprout from any terrain and, more importantly, control the Nine-Tails. While not the strongest, Yamato was certainly very impressive.
9 Shikamaru
Fans saw Shikamaru start his ninja journey from the very bottom. By the end of the series into the Boruto era, Shikamaru had become a Jonin.
While not physically the strongest, his IQ is immense, making him one of the smartest people in the entire world. He also has Jutsu that allows him to manipulate shadows and that certainly makes him quite a threat to anyone.
8 Darui
Known to be the right arm of the Fourth Raikage, Darui was introduced shortly before the Fourth Great Ninja War. As a Jonin, he held immense skill and could hold his own against even Kinkaku and Ginkaku.
What’s more, Darui has the power to use the Storm Release Kekkei Genkai, which is quite a troublesome ability. He also inherited the Black Lightning of the Third Raikage which just goes to show that he was trusted very well by the strongest.
7 Shisui Uchiha
Also known as the teleporter, Shisui Uchiha was one of Konohagakure’s brightest talents. Awakening the Sharingan and even the Mangekyo Sharingan at a very young age, he went on to become a Jonin of the village.
His Sharingan Genjutsu, called Kotoamatsukami, was known to be the ultimate illusionary technique and put fear even in the mightiest shinobi. Without a doubt, Shisui was certainly in a league of his own.
6 Sakura Haruno
Sakura Haruno progressed from a timid Kunoichi to one who could be called the strongest in the entire world by the end. After becoming a Chunin during the first timeskip, Sakura went on to attain the rank of Jonin after the 4th Great Ninja War arc.

By this time, she had already surpassed Tsunade Senju, meaning she was now stronger than even an average Jonin and on the same level as the Kage of the Naruto world.
5 Kakashi Hatake
Famed as the Copy Ninja, Kakashi Hatake remains to be one of the strongest Jonin to have ever been introduced in Naruto. With the power of the Sharingan and a genius intellect, Kakashi was nearly impossible to stop in battle.
By the end of the Fourth Great Ninja War, his skills with the Mangekyo Sharingan and Lightning Release had grown to a point where he could even take on the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, and the likes of Obito Uchiha in combat. He later went on to become the Sixth Hokage of the Village.
4 Sakumo Hatake
Sakumo was a legendary ninja who fans have heard very little about. According to the legends, his strength was greater than even that of the Legendary Sannin, making him quite a special shinobi.
He was feared all across the shinobi world as Konoha’s White Fang. Sakumo ended his life after being hated by the village for abandoning a mission for the sake of his comrades during the Second Great Ninja War. The tales of his might and bravery are enough to place them among the strongest Jonin to ever live.
3 Minato Namikaze
Known as Konohagakure’s Yellow Flash, Minato was among the greatest shinobi to ever grace the series. He became a Jonin at quite a young age and then worked his way up from there to the level of a Kage. His speed in battle was immense – enough to make him the fastest man alive.

What’s more, his intellect was so high that even with preparation and help from the Nine-Tails, Obito Uchiha couldn’t take him down. He was considered to be a generational talent and rightly so as he single-handedly ended the Third Great Ninja War. Minato certainly goes down as one of the brightest Jonin the world had ever seen.
2 Rock Lee
Born without the ability to use ninjutsu, Rock Lee worked his way up to the very top by the end of the story and achieved tremendous power. Using the ability called the Eight Inner Gates, Lee was nearly unmatched in combat.
By the end of the war, he could open up to six gates and after the blank period, it is believed that he had become a Jonin and mastered the usage of all the Eight Gates, making him one of the strongest ninjas to ever live.
1 Might Guy
Undoubtedly, the strongest Jonin in the story was Might Guy. Just like Lee, Guy was a specialist at taijutsu and he demonstrated this on several occasions throughout Naruto. By merely tapping into the 7th Gate, he could defeat a shinobi as strong as Kisame in a single blow.
By opening all Eight Gates, he could go toe-to-toe with Madara Uchiha in his Ten-tails Jinchuriki form and nearly kill him. Although Guy lost his ability to fight properly after, he remains to be the strongest Jonin in Naruto.
