As a result of his power and his relationship with the Nine-Tailed Beast, Naruto Uzumaki has gained several transformations over the years in Naruto. Here are some of his most impressive.
Updated on December 26, 2021, by Rei Penber: Although Naruto Uzumaki was born with very little talent, over the years, he’s received his fair share of power-ups. While the most prominent ones have already made their way to this list, there are quite a few that he gained along the way that are worth mentioning. With that in mind, we’ve updated the list and added four more transformations of Naruto Uzumaki that he gained on his journey as a ninja.
14 Chakra Shroud Of The Nine-Tails
Before Naruto fully tapped into the power of the Nine-Tails Chakra, he was able to draw out a small portion of its chakra in times of need. This first manifested when Naruto fought Haku during the Land of Waves arc and then, thanks to Jiraiya’s training, Naruto was able to gain a certain degree of control over it. During the fight was his Neji, Naruto was able to tap into this power and defeat the genius of the Byakugan. What time, Naruto’s control over the chakra shroud improved massively.
13 The One-Tail Cloak, Naruto’s First Major Power-Up
Naruto Uzumaki first tapped into the power of the Nine-Tails properly during his fight against Sasuke Uchiha at the Valley of the End. The Nine-Tails chakra manifested itself as a cloak with one tail, and made Naruto strong enough to take on Sasuke Uchiha in battle despite him having the maximum power of the Cursed Seal activated.

In terms of both speed and power, Naruto gained a major boost. Even a fully matured Sharingan had trouble keeping up with his movements after his transformation.
12 Demon Cloak Form
While training with Jiraiya, Naruto was able to access the power of the Nine-Tails when enraged due to the weakening of the seal. Thus, after the timeskip, Naruto could now tap into his Tailed Beast power easily. When angered, Naruto was surrounded by a chakra cloak and grew tails. While the one-tail form was the first stage, the tails grew the more he got angry and at times he even grew three tails.
During the Kazekage Rescue arc, Naruto lost all control while chasing Deidara, and had it not been for Kakashi, he would’ve put everyone on the mission in danger. The Demon Cloak FOrm was certainly one of Naruto’s strongest transformations.
11 Four-Tails Transformation, Naruto Vs. Orochimaru
Naruto Uzumaki’s control over the Nine-Tails chakra grew significantly over the years, and by the end of the timeskip, his rage often led to the manifestation of the Four-Tails transformation. The power that this form offered to him was tremendous, and on one occasion he nearly killed Jiraiya in this state when he went berserk.
On Tenchi Bridge, Naruto engaged Orochimaru in combat and used this transformation. Despite being a member of the Legendary Sannin, Orochimaru was unable to even scratch Naruto, and received multiple severe injuries as a result of this battle.
10 Six-Tails Transformation, Naruto Vs. Pain
Naruto Uzumaki’s rage after Hinata’s presumed death during the Pain arc caused him to lose all control over his anger; thus, the Six-Tails form manifested. The power offered by this transformation was much greater than the Four-Tails transformation. Along with reddish skin, Naruto also developed a skeletal structure.
When Naruto used this form against Pain, he was able to overwhelm the strongest of his bodies, the Deva Path, without any trouble. His strength pushed Pain to utilize Chibaku Tensei to overwhelm him and get the job done.
9 Toad Sage Mode
After Jiraiya’s death, Naruto Uzumaki decided to go to Mount Myoboku to train under Fukasaku and Shima in the art of the Sage Mode. Although the training was extremely intense, Naruto was able to master this power and perfect its usage, which even Jiraiya struggled to do.

Its power was such that Naruto could easily overpower Pain with it. Not only did his strength and sensory perception get boosted to incredible heights, but his chakra control improved significantly as well.
8 Eight Tails Partial Transformation
It is quite clear to see that Naruto Uzumaki’s strongest transformations were triggered by his rage at one point and during his fight against Pain, fans saw the worst of it when Hinata Hyuga was stabbed in front of his eyes. Naruto immediately went into his six tails form and shortly after, the tails grew.
When Pain trapped him in a Chibaku Tensei, he responded by growing 8 Tails and even the 9th tail almost emerged but thanks to Minato Namikaze, the process was stopped midway. Regardless, Naruto Uzumaki, in this state, was strong enough to break through a Chibaku Tensei with ease.
7 Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, Partial Transformation
Shortly before entering the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto trained with Killer Bee in order to gain control over the power of the Nine-Tails. With his guidance, Naruto was able to take on Kurama in battle and defeat him, gaining access to his large reserves of chakra in the process.
The Nine-Tails Chakra Mode drastically boosted Naruto’s power and made him strong enough to overpower even Kage level shinobi with mere shadow clones. Naruto also gained enough speed to outspeed the Fourth Raikage, becoming the fastest shinobi alive.
6 Kurama Chakra Mode, Full Transformation
Although Naruto took the Nine-Tails chakra by force after their fight, he gained access to only a portion of his true power. It wasn’t until Naruto Uzumaki joined hands with Kurama that he gained full access to his powers.
This happened in the Fourth Great Ninja War, and when activated, Naruto became strong enough to overpower five Tailed Beasts at once. Every single aspect of his power was boosted significantly, and he became a force to be reckoned with.
5 Tailed Beast Mode
Naruto and Kurama finally formed a strong bond towards the end of Naruto. After gaining complete control over Kurama, Naruto was able to enter his Tailed Beast Mode and utilize the chakra avatar of Kurama to the fullest. This helped him fight larger foes such as the Tailed Beasts much better.
What’s more, Kurama’s chakra could heal any damage that he, making this form quite useful. During the Fourth Great Ninja War, he was able to overpower 5 Tailed Beasts at once after accessing this power, which just goes to show that the Tailed Beast Mode was one of Naruto’s strongest forms at the point.
4 Kurama Sage Mode
During the fight against Obito Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki managed to learn to combine the power of Sage Mode with the Kurama Chakra Mode, giving rise to Kurama Sage Mode. As expected, this form gave a major boost to Naruto in every sense, and also increased his ability to sense negative emotions further.
Naruto’s ninjutsu were also powered by senjutsu chakra, and thus, became stronger. Despite being nowhere near the level of Obito Uchiha in his 10-Tails state, Naruto was able to inflict quite a lot of damage on his enemy in this form.
3 Six Paths Sage Mode
The Six Paths Sage Mode has become Naruto’s go-to transformation. He gained this power after meeting the Sage of Six Paths, Hagoromo Otsutsuki.

When compared to all his other transformations, the Six Paths Sage Mode is extremely special. It makes Naruto strong enough to trade blows with the likes of Six Paths Madara Uchiha and even Kaguya Otsutsuki. What’s more, Naruto gains a total understanding of all things in the universe when using this power. No wonder it’s his go-to.
2 Ashura Mode
One of the strongest transformations Naruto has at his disposal, Ashura Mode saw the powerful ninja use Six Paths Sage Mode in conjunction with a full Tailed Beast transformation. Using two shadow clones, Naruto Uzumaki created a three-headed and six-armed battle avatar that resembled the one created by Asura Otsutsuki.
This form’s power was immense, and using it, Naruto was able to fight Sasuke’s Susano’o powered by the Tailed Beast chakra. Naruto’s strongest attack, called Six Paths: Ultra Big-Ball Rasenshuriken, was performed in this mode.
1 Baryon Mode
In Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki gained a new transformation that allowed him to channel the maximum output of a new power, called Baryon Mode. This form was created by using Naruto and Kurama’s chakra as raw materials to give birth to a completely new and stronger chakra, just like nuclear fusion.
Baryon Mode powered Naruto Uzumaki up to great levels, and made him strong enough to overpower Isshiki Otsutsuki in battle. This transformation made him the strongest character in the story, and is Naruto’s strongest form by far.
