A week after Penske teammate Brad Keselowski wrecked him on the last lap of the Daytona 500, Logano led with just a handful of laps to go in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 road race. There was no crash this time, but Christopher Bell — making only his 38th career start — muscled past him heading into the final lap. Neither racer had issues with the infield, bus stop or frontstretch chicane, but Bell, who was near the front of the pack for a good portion of the race, was able to hold off Logano for his first Cup Series win....

As of right now Bowman and Johnson are the last two drivers in, but if a driver without a win this season were to take home the victory Sunday, that would mean one of the two drivers would be going home. If either driver were to win they would join Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., Clint Bowyer, Brad Keselowski, Austin Dillon, Erik Jones, Chase Elliott, Kurt Busch and Joey Logano as the drivers with automatic bids to the playoffs due to victories....

Racing fans may finally get a new winner this season as the Monster Energy Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway for the 15th race of the season . After winning last week’s Pocono 400 , Kyle Busch is not one of the favorites to record his fifth win of the year at the FireKeepers Casino 400 on Sunday. NASCAR made the change Tuesday and it will be in effect for qualifying Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway, a tight 0.533-mile bullring. To make qualifying more exciting, NASCAR changed the qualifying procedure this year from single-car qualifying with one car on the track at a time to group qualifying with all cars on the track and then another one or two sessions to determine the pole and the starting order among the fastest cars....

Officials announced it Thursday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, adding other "significant changes" to the Hall of Fame selection process and eligibility rules will be revealed during Champions Week in Las Vegas next month. The addition brings the total number of voters to 56. The group includes Hall of Famers, NASCAR officials, track representatives, retired drivers, crew chiefs and team owners and media members.
